Tips from BeMoi Surrey Boudoir Studio. The first step in removing a fake tan is to prepare the affected skin. Begin by washing thoroughly with warm water and soap. During this process, exfoliate the skin to remove as much of the surface tan as possible. This can be done with brushes and sponges,, as well as flannels.. Use an exfoliating scrub or body scrub to help remove skin cells affected by the tan. After washing, dry the skin thoroughly. Avoid using a white or other lightly-coloured towel, as some of the fake tan may rub off..Warm Bath.Although showering is fine, soaking in the bathtub is more effective in preparing skin and removing traces of a fake tan. The additional moisture and heat from the bathtub can significantly remove flakes and colour before any other processes are begun..Apply Removal Products and Ingredients. There are several different ingredients and methods that can be used to reduce or remove a fake tan. Consider each method to find one that is most suitable..Lemon Juice.Lemon juice can be purchased from grocery stores, and is one of the most useful products for removing a fake tan. Pour the juice onto a face cloth or small sponge and spread it evenly across the surface of the tan. Work carefully to cover the entire area, and try not to miss any spots. Let the lemon juice sit for at least a minute, then wash it off with warm water. Dry skin thoroughly..Sugar.If the lemon juice is not working well, try adding sugar. The texture of the sugar can act as an exfoliating agent, and help work the lemon juice into the skin. Mix one cup of sugar with three quarters of a cup of lemon juice. Also, be sure the sugar is a coarse, raw sugar, not the white refined type. The added thickness of raw cane sugar helps exfoliate the skin..Bicarbonate of Soda.Instead of sugar, it is also possible to add bicarbonate of soda to lemon juice. Mix the two in a one to one ratio to form a paste. Rub this across the skin, and allow it to sit for at least one minute. Rinse off with warm water..Hydrogen Peroxide.Hydrogen peroxide may be effective at removing fake tans, as well. Apply the liquid as evenly as possible to tanned skin, and allow it to sit for about a minute, or until it begins to dry. Rinse and dry skin afterward..Fake Tan Removal Products.A handful of specially designed products are available to remove fake tans. These range from wipes to lotions to mitts..Hair Removal Cream.A final material that can be used is hair removal cream. This is especially effective for use during the application of a fake tanning product. If a mistake is noticed while the tanning spray or lotion is setting, apply a small amount of hair removal cream and wipe it off..Moisturise.After removing the fake tan, it is important to use a moisturiser to return the skin to its normal condition. Many of the processes above can cause skin to dry out, especially if they are repeated. Once the removal products have been rinsed off, apply a moisturiser across the areas that have been washed and scrubbed. If a new coat of fake tan is applied, allow the skin at least 30 minutes to relax first.Location: Surrey-London.
